Chaffee Miniature Exhibit Opens April 10

Rutland, VT:  The Chaffee Art Center, Your Center for Creativity, invites the community to the opening of our new Exhibit “A Tiny Point of View” that will feature Miniatures such as Dollhouses, Fantasy Sculptures, Art Gallery Boxes & Tiny Art in Many Forms on Friday, April 10, 5–7pm. Stop by this free event and enjoy a glass of wine and mini light bites.

We are excited to collaborate with the Brattleboro Festival of Miniatures, The new Museum of Things Tiny and Found at the Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery in Brattleboro, Dollhouse and Toy Museum of Vermont and Home of VT. MoMA (Vermont Museum of Miniature Art) in Bennington, Helen Greene, and many Vermont artists to bring you this fun, creative Exhibit!

 • Miniature art in Gallery Boxes filled with both local and famous artists
 • Hares about town in various backdrops created by Helen Greene
• Gourd sculptures in many fantasy themes by Helen Greene

Other artists with tiny works on display include: Penelope Weiss, Ginny Wilkins, Christine Townsend, Jessica Poljacik, Morgan Loeffler, Ginger Gellman, Rusty Rodriguez, Rainey Dewey and more.

Chaffee artist members’ works will also be on display and for sale throughout the mansion galleries and in the Gallery Shoppe that is filled with handmade treasures and gift ideas for any occasion. Be sure to take time to explore the 1890’s architecture and history.  Exhibit will be on display until May 22nd.

Plan to visit the Chaffee to experience the beauty of the 1890’s Queen Anne Victorian Mansion and the wonderful works of art throughout, plus our Gallery Shoppe with old-fashioned candy!  Enjoy a hot cup of tea or cocoa while you browse, or plan to meet a friend and cozy up in one of our many seating areas.  Free Wi-Fi available.  Plus, don’t forget to check out our 100-foot Pollinator Garden with native plantings, growing Sculpture Garden, and over a dozen gardens on the property. 

While here, picture your next event, bridal shower, wedding, birthday, meeting, or retreat being held in our beautiful mansion, fondly known by its first owners as Sunny Gables. Winter Hours: Thursday & Friday 10am to 5pm; Saturday 10am to 3pm. Private appointments available by request.

As we celebrate 65 years as an art center in the Rutland Community, we also invite you to join as an artist, single or family member to help the Chaffee to continue to inspire and cultivate creativity, while positively impacting the vitality of our community through the arts.
