64th Annual Art in the Park Fall Festival

Chaffee Art Center’s 64th Annual Art in the Park Fall Foliate Festival will take place Oct. 11 & 12 in Rutland’s Main Street Park at the Junction of Routes 4 & 7. Juried fine artists, craftspeople, and specialty food producers will be featured. Rounding out the festival are food vendors, live music, free kids’ activities and face painting, plus demonstrations of works in progress held throughout the weekend. NEW this year: Special Demos by The Carving Studio & Sculpture Center each day, Artist Ann McFarren on Saturday 12–3pm and more, plus fun Games for all ages! Hours: Saturday 10am–5pm and Sunday 10am–4pm. A voluntary donation is appreciated.
We invite everyone to visit this fun event. Attendees will enjoy the variety of unique handcrafts and fine art that will be on exhibit and available for purchase at the outdoor festival. The visual arts are represented by a selection of oil paintings,
watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, and photographs. A full array of crafts will be featured: functional stoneware pottery; fiber items such as hand dyed and screen printed clothing, quilted items, reversible tote bags, purses, totes, wallets, hats, hair accessories; fused and flame worked glass pendants, ornaments, dishes; large variety of jewelry; copper & stainless steel garden art; wooden furniture, bowls, lamps, cutting boards, charcuterie boards, clocks, birdhouses, hobbit houses, ornaments, door harps, jigsaw puzzles, ornaments, boxes; bee skin care; soap, lotion, candles; marble & granite lamps; leather goods, and more!
Food concessions will be selling their delicious food both days to include the Rollin’ Rooster Food Truck; Yellow Deli is back at the festival with their cider press, hot cider and fresh baked banana bread; delicious Green Mountain Kettle Corn, lemonade. and maple cotton candy; and Rez Me Energy drinks, both energy and non-caffeinated
Live music will be performed all day on Saturday and Sunday featuring Mr. Moose & Friends, Ian Campbell, Breanna Elaine, Dirty Red Hearts, and Jamie Snook. Back again this year are Chaffee Bucks that will be given away randomly at the gates throughout both days. Winners can spend the Chaffee Bucks during the festival weekend at any booth in the park.

Art in the Park is Vermont’s oldest continuing arts tradition, and the Chaffee Art Center’s major fund-raising event, occurring twice yearly in mid-summer and autumn. Stop in during open hours and explore our current exhibit, “Reimagined II, The Art of Recycling.” Back by popular demand, this is our 2nd annual exhibit featuring recycling art in many forms from Artists of all mediums whose work includes recycled materials, as well as from members of the community. Chaffee artist members have work on display and for sale throughout the mansion, as well as in the Gallery Shoppe that is filled with handmade treasures and gift ideas for any occasion.
