The games afoot ...

On Friday night, March 14th, the Chaffee Art Center will present "The Hooker Heist" in association with our partners at the Rutland Art Hop. The "Heist" is a mystery everyone can enjoy solving and you can download the play in a MS Word Document or in PDF format by simply clicking on those links.

Once you're read the play you're ready to begin collecting clues during the Art Hop. You may start at any of the participating sponsors. Every location will have at least one valid clue; some will have more than one and some will have clues designed to throw you off track! Simply write down whatever clues you believe are pertinent to solving the case on the last page of the play. Remember to finalize your clue sheet with your deduction of who committed the crime, how it was done and why.

A $200 "Reward" has been offered to anyone who aids in the return of the art work! Anyone can play along for free, but to be eligible to win the reward money you must be pre-registered as an assistant detective by 4:00 PM on the day of the heist (Oops. We mean the day of the Hop.) Registration is also free; we just want to know how to reach you next time we do this. And registration is only necessary if you think you're smart enough to win! If you're registered and playing for the "Reward Money" all sheets must be turned into the Chaffee staff by 8:00 on Friday night. While you're visiting the galleries, the staff will grade the sheets and select the winner. In the event of multiple people solving the mystery, all who do so will have their success acknowledged and one single winner will be chosen at random from among them.

One last thing: the "Hooker Heist" was written by someone without any writing experience. (Heck, he even prefers reading non-fiction.) Any normal "rules" of mystery-writing do not apply. So please don't take this too seriously.
