CHAFFEE ARTIST MEMBERSHIP

The Rutland Area Art Association d.b.a Chaffee Art Center invites artists residing in Vermont and within 50 miles of its borders to submit applications for juried artist membership. The Chaffee is a non-profit community arts organization with a mission to promote member artwork and educate the community.

Benefits of Artist Membership
• The opportunity to exhibit artwork in our Summer and Winter Member Shows.
• The opportunity to be juried as a Featured Artist.
• A 10% discount on purchases over $100, and on art classes, lectures, and workshops.
• A 10% discount on admission to all institutional members of the Vermont Museum and Gallery Alliance.
• Advance notice of exhibit openings, special events, classes and workshops.
• Invitation to member only events, sales, and discounts.
• The Chaffee Art Center e-newsletter.
• The opportunity to link your website to our website.

Artist Members are invited to keep up to 3 pieces in the building as we rotate work with each new show, and to leave prints, cards, etc for our gift shop.

Featured Artists: Artist members are invited to submit images to be juried as a Featured Artist. Featured Artists are allotted 1 gallery within the building during the Annual Full House Exhibit. A limit of 8 featured artists will be selected for each year. Once accepted as a featured artist there is a fee of $75. Featured artists will be juried once per year in March for the following years Annual Full House Exhibit.

Artwork Sales: All artwork must be for sale with a 40% commission going to the Rutland Area Art Association d.b.a. Chaffee Art Center.

Application Procedure
The Chaffee Art Committee, juries for artist membership 3-4 times per year. Although applications may be submitted at any time, artists may wish to call for the next jury date. To apply, the committee requires:
• Six high-quality digital images of the work being juried.
• A jury form, which includes the title, medium, and price of the pieces being submitted. Click Here for the jury form.
• A current artist statement, resume is optional.

Artists will be notified of the Art Committee’s decision within one week following the next scheduled jury date. If accepted, membership needs to be paid to the Chaffee before any artwork is displayed, memberships run January-December.

• Individual $60
• Family (2 or More) $75
• Contributing $100-$249
• Patron $250-$499
• Sponsor $500-$999
• Benefactor $1000+
